Comment: I own a coop. Building was built in the 60s and there wasn't any light fixture in the living room. I had a ceiling light installed with dimmer switch on the walls, but really wanted a ceiling fan with up lights and a shade, but was told that an install might be wobbly because there isn't a beam in the ceiling to anchor a ceiling fan's weight. I believe it can be done if I get the right person to install it mindful of the challenge (i.e., would something extra need to be installed to help anchor the fan). I'm ready to purchase the fan but would like a professional opinion before I do. Thanks!
