Not only do hardware stores carry these items but you can get them also at Dept. stores like wally world, K-Mart etc.

I had a favorite lamp that I was too weak to throw out. It has been broken for a couple of years. After watching this video I decided to try to save it. The replacement part was a little difficult to locate, but Dave Smith, the Lampmaker happened to have it. I have saved my old lamp that matches a floor lamp. I will be checking the service magic videos more often!

David Lupberger on How to Save Your Favorite Lamp: Hi, I'm David Lupberger with ServiceMagic.com. Often times people have a favorite lamp and for some reason it stops working; could be the switch doesn't work. I want to show you before you throw it away, how to replace that switch and to save that favorite lamp. In this case; I discovered the base of this switch unscrews, and it exposes (let me get rid of the bulb here) the switch mechanism. Lupberger: You can go to any good hardware store and replace that mechanism, and you'll see wiring is here and here. And by working with one of these replacements you can actually replace that switch, put that lamp back together you've saved your favorite lamp. Sometimes it just takes that switch to save that favorite light but make sure you unplug it before you do this work.
