Review from Portland, OR - Install an Attic or Whole House Fan

Customer Rating:
Project: Install an Attic or Whole House Fan
City: Portland, OR
"we were looking into installing a whole house fan in our house, but the problem was that we don't have a big attic but mostly vaulted ceilings. Kurt from Square 1 eletric came out to look at it and came up with an innovative idea how we could make it work in our house by combining an attic fan with air intakes to the house. He also replaced our old electrical panel with a new one. The work went very well and they did their work in the proposed time. The fan works great. Imeediatley after the installation we had a few 90 degree days and could test the system. "

"Company contacted me quickly about the job and was prompt with service. Price was very reasonable and very familiar with the product. My only complaint is that the installers need to do a better job on clean up. My kids found several loose staples, pieces of wire, and other debris. Tell them to bring a tarp or drop cloth with them to the job."

PREPARING FOR YOUR PROJECT

Things to Consider Before You Ceiling fans help to heat and cool residences by stirring up breezes in the summer and forcing warm air downward in the winter, ceiling fans effectively reduce the demand on conventional heating and cooling systems. The amount of air a fan moves depends on its construction and placement. Bathroom exhaust fans are desirable in any bathroom, and they are required in bathrooms that have no windows or a window that can't be opened. Bathroom fans should exchange the air in a bathroom completely every five minutes. Installing a whole house fan allows homeowners the advantage of cool breezes and reduced electricity costs. A whole house fan quickly pulls large amounts of fresh cool air from the outside through the house and pushes all the hot air out the attic in minutes. in Portland, Oregon:
