Project: Analyze a Structural Issue (Structural Engineer)
Location: Portland, OR
Date: 02/09/2012
Comment: We need a S. engineer to verify that an interior wall is or is not a load bearing wall. We have a contractor for the remodel, and are just seeking structural verification. Roof is trussed, beams in v-shape running north-south; the interior wall runs east-west. We taken lots of pics of the attic, removing insulation to hunt for supports - cant find any protruding above the crawl space flooring. BUT, this wall does have one underneath it... Two contractors are 90% sure it isn't load bearing; we want more skilled eyes on it. Thank you.
