Comment: Am at juncture where I cannot locate a home to remodel in the bay area. So now considering building what I would call a modern farmhouse/cottage. Want a small piece of property, sunny and flat with trees. Enough room to have a small garden, room for dogs to run around, and me to work for 3-4 days a week in relative quiet. Within an hour's drive of San Jose. I need help fleshing out concept and developing a total budget, then securing property, and finally building. I have no timeline. Just want to get this right without wasting time or money.
