Review from Chesterfield, MO - Apply Specialty Decorative Paint Finishes

Celtic Painting, Inc.
Customer Rating:
Project: Apply Specialty Decorative Paint Finishes
City: Chesterfield, MO
"Celtic did an excellent job with all our painting requests -- including the additional room we requested after they'd finished our original job! They will be called upon again when we finish out our basement. EXCELLENT is not strong enough a word to describe the job and professionalism."

"I plan to hire Celtic Painting again. They worked with me to achieve the exact faux finish that I wanted. Their painting staff were wonderful."

Project: Paint, Varnish or Stain Exterior Surfaces
City: Saint Louis, MO
"I would recommend Celtic Painting with qualifications. Celtic provided a very competitive price and were prompt and fast at completing my job considering weather problems. The hand work was excellent. Knowing what I know now, I would insist on 3 coats for a sprayed exterior job rather than 2. The majority of their work was good and the crew worked fast. I was disappointed with some of the prep and cleanup work. There were a few minor problems I didn't notice until the weather cleared. Some accidental overspray on some evergreens could have been prevented with drop cloths. I would consider them again but watch them much more closely."

PREPARING FOR YOUR PROJECT

Things to Consider Before You Most paint finishes used today are water-based latex. Oil-based paints are rarely used for finishes anymore because the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has put a limit on the amount of volatile chemicals that can be used. Paints have different gloss ratings, or sheens: flat, low-sheen, eggshell, semi-gloss and gloss. Flat paint has little or no sheen and is used primarily for walls and ceilings. The remaining are considered enamels and can range from a five to 85 percent sheen rating - the higher the rating, the higher the shine. These are used for trim, cabinets and walls in kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms. Many homeowners use enamel paint on all their walls because they are more durable and easier to clean, but low-sheen is recommended because it is more attractive than shinier enamels. in Maryland Heights, Missouri:
