Review from Springfield, VA - Apply Textured Paint Finishes

Painting by Rob, LLC
Customer Rating:
Project: Apply Textured Paint Finishes
City: Springfield, VA
"Unfortunately, I have to give Rob a poor rating. The work done was decent, and he did it in a timely manner at a fair price, but he was in a rush to leave on the last day and told me he'd come back to finish up the job. The ceilings he installed had many defects, and he was supposed to come back to smooth them out and paint over the areas. I've sent him many emails and have not received a response. I would rate him higher if he finished the job."

Project: Paint, Varnish or Stain Exterior Surfaces
City: Springfield, VA
"I'd give Painting by Rob, LLC three and a half stars. Overall, the quality of the painting was very good, but he doesn't get more stars because cleanup isn't the best. I'm cleaning up a lot of overspray off my furniture, cabinets, counters and wood floors and drips here and there, including on the carpet. I'm also still finding areas of incomplete coverage, which we'll take care of, since we can't spend any more vacation time giving painters access to our home. Would I use them again? Probably not. The cleanup is almost as important as the paint job, and that part was lacking. "

PREPARING FOR YOUR PROJECT

Things to Consider Before You Most paint finishes used today are water-based latex. Oil-based paints are rarely used for finishes anymore because the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has put a limit on the amount of volatile chemicals that can be used. Paints have different gloss ratings, or sheens: flat, low-sheen, eggshell, semi-gloss and gloss. Flat paint has little or no sheen and is used primarily for walls and ceilings. The remaining are considered enamels and can range from a five to 85 percent sheen rating - the higher the rating, the higher the shine. These are used for trim, cabinets and walls in kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms. Many homeowners use enamel paint on all their walls because they are more durable and easier to clean, but low-sheen is recommended because it is more attractive than shinier enamels. in Arlington, Virginia:
