Comment: I need to run a gas line to a detached garage for heating a 45K BTU heater. The meter is on the oposite side of the house. I have have a low pressure system now. The most likley option is running the gas from near the furnace in the basement, through the basement to the side of the house where the garage is (about 30-40 feet inside), out of the house underground, then about 100-110 feet underground, then about 10 feet inside the garage. Of the people that have looked at it, there are two options: 1) switch to high pressure, which would reduce the cost of the long pipe, but would add the cost of regulaors and such. 2) Run 3/4" out to the garage. To save costs, I would dig the trench.
