Comment: We have an older ranch style home that has been added on to twice over the years and a basement dug out underneath it all. Am very allergic to smoke and many neighbors burn in their wood-burning stoves and fire pits. The smoke gets in our house even with windows closed and makes me very sick. Looking for suggestions to try to close up the house (leaks, etc...) so not as much smoke can get in. Need advice on where the leaks are and what to do about it. Thank you.

Comment: Modular home built in 1997 that's 1100 square feet. Not sure of roof insulation quality or condition. Roofing within 3 inches of being flush with edge of house. My understanding is this greatly increases ice dams & damage. Other than manual snow removal are there any other options? Siding and skirting is vinyl. From what I know multiple options are available for improving underside insulation in crawlspace. Finally, any new/unique suggestions for insulating ductwork or even retrofitting/upgrade of ductwork that is cost effective?
