Comment: I have a flat metal section of roof that lies between the two main sloping sections at the top of the roof. There is evidence of 2 places inside the 2nd floor of our house that have had leak issues in the past. The leaks seem to originate in the area covered by the metal section. The shingle roof itself is 4 years old, and is in good shape. We have lived in the house for 1 year without experiencing any leak problems. The problem has reoccurred recently after a heavy rain, which had been preceded by a lengthy dry spell. I'm thinking a good seal job on the metal section should likely remedy the problem, but I need a professional opinion.
