Comment: Our home had a slight water leak last spring. We think due to the odd weather. It dripped slowly through the ceiling and caused about a 15 inch by 7 inch problem. It is bulging and stained and needs a repair. I would like to know about how much this repair would cost. I would also like to know if it would be possible to just replace the ceiling (it's in a stairwell/hallway) not too big of an area with drywall. It is a plaster ceiling with popcorn sprayed over it. It's one of two places with the ugly popcorn ceiling. I would like to change it if it's not too expensive. Thanks. Rebecca P.

Comment: the paint started peeling off the walls & ceiling. Looks like water damage below, but haven't had any water trouble. Looks like the paint just peeled off the plaster. Some spots the plaster is effervescing. Older home. Built in the 20's
