Comment: I need quote on redoing three exterior porch within our home. One porch is in the front...one is on the back...and the biggest of the three is also in back of the house attached to a separate unit of the house. Comment: 3 level decking with built-in seating and lattice covering. Size total approx. 20' by 20'. there are some lattice and lighting installed. The boards on the top are very bad. rotting etc. Base is rough. very old. over 12 years old.
Comment: 1) Replace front, and back, deck facia boards all around (3 sides each deck). Use exterior-marine grade plywood (no "chip" board) cut to size. 2) Cut out and replace bad/damaged front deck deck boards with exterior-marine grade plywood (no "chip" board) cut to size for tight fit. Sand deck top and finish paint all surfaces to color of existing. 3) Pull, deck-front 2 x 12 boards flush to deck joist ends and secure with metal angle brackets, and through bolts, every third joist plus deck-end joists; use Simpson strong-tie A311, or equal. Angle through-bolts shall be countersunk in front 2 x 12's sufficiently to not interfere with new front fascia.
