Comment: I am building a dock that is 4' x 8'. I am using 4" x 8" treated lumber as an outer frame, and 4" x 6" deck boards out of treated and stained wood. At each of the 4 corners will be a slot for the deck or dock to be lifted up and slid over 4 steel round or rectangular posts. Holes will be drilled in the 4 x 8's such to allow holes to be drilled in the steel post and bolts will be used to secure deck dock to poles. Two of the poles on long side need to be placed in the ground right at the water to land point. The other two will be placed out 4' into the water, that should be no more than 3' deep. It is basically going to be a tie up for a small fishing boat with electric motor. I will build the dock. I need for you to select the posts, get them in place and then secure the pre-made dock or deck to the poles. Your part will be providing the poles, installing the poles and then taking the pre-made deck and attaching it to the deck. This is a small pond behind the house.

Comment: I have a dock connected to stairs on both ends that serve as a bridge. The wood has broken and thus the dock is dangerously close to breaking down.
