Comment: My in-laws have purchased a 2-story new build home. They've lived there since January. Now that the weather is hitting triple-digits, the second floor is very hot and the electric bills are skyrocketing. I am looking at options for them to improve the attic insulation. One, what can be done (additional insulation, radiant heat barriers, etc.) and two, what are some ballpark costs? The house is small (1,800sq.ft.) so the attic is not very large.
