Subcontractors: Finding the Right Person for
the Job
Many of the contractors who receive job leads through ServiceMagic also utilize our service the same way their consumers do, to find subcontractors for additional tasks. There are two primary reasons why a contractor might seek a subcontractor.
First, and most often, this is to perform specified tasks within their own profession. For example, an appliance repairman might need both an electrician and a plumber depending on the scope of the job at hand. When he receives this lead, just as consumers do, he must decide the most qualified candidates and who can perform the task exactly as he describes. He will accomplish this just the way our consumers do, by looking at ratings and reviews of each subcontractor, looking at previous work, and of course digging through all available references. The successful primary contractor must be extremely meticulous as the work of each subcontractor will be considered his work, and any flaws in the effort will reflect on him as such.
