CONSUMER PRODUCT MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
·  Participates in the overall development of, and execution against, the product strategy for ServiceMagic's consumer offering.
·  Conduct analysis of user behavior, competitive practices, and industry trends in the development of product definitions.
·  Maintain ownership and accurate documentation of the ServiceMagic consumer offering. This includes continual reviews of current functionality and implementation of new functional enhancements, as well as maintenance of primary knowledge and accurate documentation of all aspects of our user's experience.
·  Manage project deliverables and timelines both internally (within product team) and externally (with other departments/outsourced help) to insure execution matches product vision and/or other client expectations.
·  Maintain awareness & execute product enhancements that utilize best practices for search engine optimization.
·  Create and maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders in the development of product enhancements - primarily with the technology team, but also including graphic design and other internal customers.
·  Conduct internal training on the functionality of the product offering.

Skills Required
·  1 - 3 years experience in online product marketing and/or other marketing role preferred.
·  Familiarity with technology.
·  Strong ability to think analytically and consider both strategic and tactical impacts of alternatives.
·  Ability to work at a detailed level while maintaining and supporting the overall system goals and objectives.
·  Demonstrated project management skills.
·  Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
·  Self-motivated, proactive individual with positive attitude.
·  Comfortable working in extremely fast-paced environment.
·  Local candidates preferred

CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
ServiceMagic has several Customer Service positions available. Our customer support department has an excellent record of providing top-notch service to the 30,000 calls they receive every month.

Requirements:
·  Minimum of six months experience in a customer service or call center setting.
·  Excellent communication skills a must.
·  PC proficiency, phone, typing or data entry skills needed.
·  High school degree or equivalent required.

This position handles all inquiries via phone, email and live chat then maintaining documentation on all contacts. Customer Service Representatives also handle initial contact on disputes, participate in team meetings, and provide backup to fellow Customer Service Representatives.

INSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Join us and sell ServiceMagic's unique, Internet-enabled advertising service to Home Service Professionals across the United States. This is business-to-business inside sales against targeted prospects in a dynamic, intelligent environment. This is done through outbound phone calls. Main responsibilities include:

·  Utilize business to business cold calling sales techniques to sell memberships
·  Data-entry of enrollments into sales database
·  Participate in team and company meetings as required
·  Provide back-up to fellow Inside Sales Representatives as needed

Technical Analyst (Internship)
We are looking for someone who has a passion to learn and who is motivated to excel at a career within the technology industry. As a part of our team, you will work with the latest Internet and communications technologies.

Microsoft Speech Server
Oracle databases
Unix and Solaris platforms
Apache/Tomcat web server
Java applications
Automated Testing Tools

Our fast-paced development environment has weekly code releases to our production website and internal CRM tools. This is an excellent opportunity to gain real technical experience!

What You Will Learn:
·  Basics of the Microsoft .NET framework and some basic .NET coding skills using Visual Studio
·  Microsoft Speech server technologies including experience with Text To Speech (TTS) engines
·  An understanding of technical system testing procedures and guidelines to ensure consistent and quality processes
·  To maintain technical documentation to track system deficiencies in such a way that developers can recreate and repair them
·  And, you will be exposed to the breadth of technical systems required to operate a high volume, highly dynamic 24x7 customer-facing website with a complex rules-based user experience.
Requirements:
·  Working on a technical degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems
·  Preferably Graduating May of 2005
·  Liberal Arts/Business background a plus
·  Reasonably familiar in the Windows and Unix operating systems
·  Desire to grow and contribute in a highly dynamic business environment



Marketing/Public Relations ( Internships)
We are looking for an intern to assist with marketing and public relations efforts for two to three days a week (between 16-20 hours a week). This will not be a paid position, however, students will receive class credit, have the opportunity to gain real world experience; knowledge on how successful Internet companies work; learn about different online marketing strategies and build a full portfolio of both marketing and public relations materials. This position will own several projects, none of which include getting coffee or making copies. Primary responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

Marketing:
·  Assist with conducting market research for target sales campaigns and creating fact sheets, potential lead sources, list of industry associations and customer testimonials.
·  Conduct weekly reports highlighting ServiceMagic's Pay-Per-Click (PPC) results
·  Conduct research and document potential ad sources
·  Assist with several promotional campaigns and contests
·  Assist with creating monthly customer testimonials that are distributed to ServiceMagic's 25,000+ member businesses
Media Relations:
·  Assist with developing target media campaigns, including building media lists, creating press kits, developing targeted pitches and conducting media outreach.
·  Develop 2005 editorial calendar and assist with conducting media outreach for targeted opportunities
·  Write monthly consumer tip press releases and distribute to targeted media in more than 13 markets
·  Assist with compiling media coverage results
Trade Shows:
·  Assist with identifying and managing trade shows and speaking opportunities
Awards:
·  Assist with identifying industry awards for ServiceMagic and writing award entries
Qualifications:
·  Journalism/Public Relations and/or Marketing majors (junior, senior or recent graduate) preferred
·  Strong research and organizational skills
·  Strong verbal and written communication skills
·  Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
·  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet
