About This Gallery

Trek decking and Trex handrail, the ballisters are 3/4 inch powder coated metal that come in several colors, the complete deck contains three different products, trex decking, the ballisters are from a company called fortress, and the visible screws are specially made for trex decking, this makes it a truly custom deck, not what home depot has,The red deck is over 1000 square feet, the tan deck is under 100 square feet.

Wondering how long it lasts and how durable Trex decking is, . Does it withstand extreme heat and cold? Is the weight damaging to house structure?

Trex products are extremely durable cheryl k. I have used it before on several decking jobs that I do on the side. It's made of recycled plastics and scrap lumber. It never has to be painted or refinished. Even though I am partial to the real wood look and kind of enjoy taking care of real wood, Trex is attractive . As far as damaging house structure, i am a strong believer in not attaching a deck directly to a structure. I normally build them as a separate unit as to not cause damage to the other in the event of settling by either.
