This is my inspiration.....I'll let you know how it goes. The contractors start this Monday. I have black appliances and my tile is a darker brown but I'm going for the red walls that will make my cabinets pop.

I would like to see more photos with the same exact angles for the before and after so that I can see more clearly what the differences are and how I could use some of your ideas. Polly C

ok kitchen. like the cabinet style, granite countertop and knobs. but the tile and vinyl floor don't work with it. it is too busy and contradicting. cabinets look grand and so do the granite countertops but then the cheap floor and tile take away from the look of the kitchen. there are a bit too many cabinets (I would have skipped the cabinets above breakfast nook) in this dark kitchen which only gets light from the french door or when the recessed light is turned on. hence i would have wished for a light color on the wall that lightens the space. the red color also swallows the warm wooden breakfast table and bench. i would have gone with a complimenting, light color that brings out the tones of the cabinets and tones of the countertop. dear debbie... please don't paint your wall red. i have yet to see a red wall on HGTV's makeover shows.
