LANDSCAPING: Landscape Transformation

Bill Vecchione of B & G Landscape Architects refers to his calling as "extreme makeover landscaping," and he's not kidding. The above landscaping was a sparse, boring space before his company stepped in.

After first designing a customized landscape plan, his team got right to work. First, they increased the depth and width of the yard with major regrading. They also installed better drainage and in-ground sprinklers. Next they renovated the existing swimming pool by removing the surrounding dingy concrete and replacing it with attractive new pavers.
A functional patio was designed and installed near the pool for entertaining. Next an English motif landscape with magnolias, hemlock and birch was added. Finally, the lighting design was installed - over 35,000 light fixtures spotlighting and highlighting the yard.
"The homeowners were pretty amazed," says Vecchione. One more amazing detail about this transformation? It only took two and a half weeks to complete!
