Colonial Kitchen

Colonial kitchens are remnants of the early days in our country and are often found in older Northeastern homes. These kitchens are cozy and add a lot of charm to the home. They usually have a stone fireplace which was used for heating and cooking in older times. There are typically smaller windows and a lot of heavy wood tones. The family eating area is usually located within the kitchen area either as a breakfast nook or as a smaller alcove with a bit more privacy.
