In Business Since: 1979
Wilson Service, Inc., and 5280 Window Repair are members of Tom Martino's Troubleshooter Network and the Better Business Bureau, providing top quality work for homeowners and businesses in the Denver/Boulder metro area since 1979. Many services for our homeowners, including repairs and replacement of mirrors and all glass including stained and specialty glass, installation and repair for window hardware, replacement of window balances, and installation and repair of window and door screens. We have 4 trucks on the road and are happy to provide service within 24 hours so we can be there for you in an emergency. We also offer 48 hour service on double pane windows so we can fix any problem in a hurry. In addition, we do offer our Home Closing Inspection Service, where we check all windows to ensure they're in proper working order, which is a often a requirement when you are selling your home.
Questions: When insulated glass gets broken, cloudy, or "fogs up" between the panes, what are the repair options? Fortunately, there is a repair for clouded insulated glass. When the seal around the perimeter of the two panes fails (not if, but when, because they all fail eventually), moisture enters the gap and condenses on the inside of the glass, giving it a foggy appearance. This is irreversible. The only repair is replacement of the glass unit (not the frame). You may be able to obtain an individual replacement glass unit. Contact Francisco to find out for sure.
Question: How do I know what kind of glass I'll get when my window is repaired? We will match the glass thickness. Most residential, single pane windows are either 3/32nds or 1/8 inch in thickness. We carry both on our service wagons. Generally, when the size reaches 3x4, double strength is used because of wind load factors. Double strength glass is not twice as thick as single strength glass, however it is considerably stronger.
Question: What is glass called that is typically installed in a bathroom window? It is called "obscure". It is typically installed rough side out or to match the other pane. There are several patterns. We carry pattern 62 on our trucks.
