Juan proved flexible enough to accommodate both his own vision, as well as my constraints, limitations and shifting preferences, as well as those of my partner, which sometimes clashed with mine, as well as those of the contractor, who sometime had his own brilliant ideas when given the chance to express them, as well as those of my lighting designer. He coped well with my nervous breakdowns and paranoid accusations when I was overwhelmed by inability to grasp what was going on and was able to maintain a healthy balance between sticking to the overall concept we carefully built over several weeks as well as responding to unexpected challenges. On a scale of 1-to-10 I would rate Juan Matiz and his firm, Hangar Design at 100 – he was simply an angel, God-sent.

<br />I live in a historical building with 33 apartments and there are renovations going all the time, so I have a lot to compare to. Most renovations are horror stories. I am writing this at the conclusion of mine, so it’s not wishful thinking. Juan Matiz came up with many superb ideas for the redesign of our apartment. Every square inch was used 120%. The space feels larger, more exciting and more efficiently used. I can go on and on – it was worth waiting several years before I found The Right One and I cannot recommend him enough, HE’S THE BEST!
