Residential Design Philosophy The design of a house is personal and reflects the way the clients live, play, and work on a daily basis. The feelings of security, comfort, and family are a few of the important ideas to consider when designing a home. The design process starts with an interview and information gathering. How do the clients live? What are their current needs? What are their future needs? AEA will build from these needs and offer several design options that the client can choose from before moving further into the design process. Once a design is decided upon, drawings are completed and the project can move forward to the construction phase. Budget, schedule, and consultant relationships are very important to a successful project and AEA understands the importance of each to the project. Interior Design Philosophy The design process starts by listening to your likes, needs, budget, and function of spaces. This process is similar to the architectural process with added concerns for colors, textures, and products that may be green or sustainable. Commercial Design Philosophy The design process starts with a discussion of the clients' needs, problems, and ideas. We analyze these and consider the design options based on our discussion of budget, schedule, and preferences.
