For over 20 years we have provided a wide range of landscaping services and products to meet and exceed our customers expectations. Outstanding among the region's landscape contractors, Westside Landscape offers expertise in landscape design and installation of all phases in the industry, Westside Landscape strives to bring our clients quality and professionalism in all our operations, Tim Barnes (owner) has an education in landscape technologies including, turf grass science, horticulture, plant identification, and soil science. Tim also personally approves and inspects the progress of each project that Westside Landscape is involved in. Our craftsman have over 100 years of experience many have been with the company for over 10 years creating custom water features, stone, slate and cobblestone patios to developing design build masterplans for an entire property. We have provided residential and commercial landscape services throughout the northwest, creating some very unique and diverse outdoor living spaces for our clients. At this time we are involved in projects up and down the Willamete Valley from Vancouver, WA to Eugene, OR.

Project: Install a Lawn and Garden Sprinkler System
The final product was good but I feel they tried to fit my project in between a larger project resulting in the removed lawn out in the sun for too long. They also wrapped the soaker hose around my existing system making the latter difficult to remove and when they lost or broke a brick from my lawn boarder and despite multiple emails requesting they fix this, it never occurred. I guess my overall impression is although they are skilled at what they do they just did not pay the attention to detail I would have preferred.

Project: Mow Grass and Maintain Landscaping
I hired Westside to cleanup and maintain my yard. They were a bit more expensive than the other companies I received bids from but they seemed to do a more comprehensive job. The maintenance services we ok but the cleanup was not completed as their proposal stated. My concerns were not addressed either in person or by phone but only email and the issues were never resolved. I cancelled the maintenance & we finally settled up for a couple months of maintence & the cleanup charge less what another complany had bid to finish it. Glad I didn't pay in advance.

Im am sorry that this customer is not happy, I still do not understand why? especially since we did everything that we contracted for. I met customer on site multiple times? I also do not understand the paying in advance statement, we dont charge anyone in advance? Some folks are just impossible to please, this is most likely the case.

Project: Install a Retaining Wall
I offered Westside Landscape, (Tim Barnes) the opportunity to build my project. It was a ridiculously difficult project on a steep grade in my backyard, woodland garden, and during a very heavy rainy season. There was no access for machinery and everything needed to be done by hand. Carrying in blocks, rock, lumber, concrete, tools, etc. and moving tons of dirt in 5 gallon buckets. I had a vision and Tim worked with me to see that my vision was clearly demonstrated in the finished product. Tim’s crews are among the hardest working professionals I have seen, and I am extremely pleased with the product Tim, and his crews produced for me. Tim hired a subcontractor to build a covered deck in the space as well, (Jessie Gooding operator of Gooding Construction in Portland). Jessie and his employee Tom are without a doubt two very skilled carpenters and both possess extremely keen work ethics and I can’t say enough good things about the work they did on this project. I am thrilled with their work on the concrete and wooden portions of this project. They built the covered deck and two sets of stairs, and their work was exceptional. And they were easy to talk to when I had questions. Very important to a successful project. Clearly I would highly recommend Westside Landscape for any landscape projects large or small.

Project: Install Interlocking Pavers for Driveways & Floors
Westside did a nice job on the pavers. They did not do a good job on the sprinkler system. They killed two trees and would not replace them even though, at the time, they said they would (to avoid a fine from the city). The owner of Westside does not like to accept responsibility for their errors and becomes difficult to work with. I would recommend NOT paying until you are sure everything is done as agreed upon. The owner is the nicest guy when everything is going well and you pay him before the work is done...big mistake.

If you will notice the client said we did a nice job on the pavers, as for the trees we offered to install the dead tree free of charge, there is no way to determine that we killed this tree and they are the wrong type of tree for this area. It is unfortunate that this client is trying to use this service to hurt our reputation that is exellent in the community.

Project: Install a Retaining Wall
They did a pretty good job. Easy to work with and get a hold of, very responsive. There were several items in the agreement that did not get done that turned out to be beyond their equipment capability. They were also going to come back and deal with a stump that was cut off too high and never did. All in all I would work with Westside again but would be more careful to make aure everything in the written agreement was within theit capability.

Project: Install a Retaining Wall
I contracted with Westside Landscape, owner Time Barnes, in July and he and his crew began work in August. The job included two large retaining walls, a curved stone stairs, rebuiding a pond, and installing sod and irrigation. Timely completion, on budget, (very reasonable) and very fine results. We couldn't be more pleased with the new look and the excellent service. I recommend them highly. Phil and Karen Griffin, Newberg OR.
