1-800 Water Damage

The construction work was fine and met our expectations. However, 1-800 Water Damage became demanding and hostile once work was completed and demanded payment in full within 2 business days despite the invoice stating that payment was due in 14 days and threatened legal action if the payment was not made within 2 days.

This customer signed a contract that stated payment was due upon completion of work. Work was completed on a Monday and customer indicated that we would have payment within a few days. On Thursday, customer indicated that they were going on vacation for the holiday weekend and we could expect payment the following week. The customer had been paid by their insurance company the monies for us to complete the work. As customer had this property on the market for sale and it was showing to potential buyers, we felt it appropriate to advise the customer that we would place a mechanic's lein on the property if we were not paid in a timely manner.

They were the second people to come and they were knowledgeable about the issues and informed me about how serious water damage can be. Including health issues surrounding that. Tracey Foy said he could get started on water removal immediately. However, I wanted to make sure this was covered under my storm damage claim. He explained urgency to my insurance adjuster and we got the ok to proceed with water removal. They had to remove a lot of wet wood they broke down some work benches and items soaked in water expediently and professionally. Including setting up equipment to remove moisture indoors. Tracy kept in touch by phone periodically throughput the job which I appreciated. They also cleaned and sanitized basement. Did a very thorough job I was very pleased. A regular clean up company does not have the same equipment and may have to rent it 1-800 Water Damage owns their equipment and has everything required to test for moisture.
