Get To Know Us
Our Company/Industry
I chose to work in this industry because My uncle was an architect, and I wanted to be like him.. I love working in the Baltimore-Washington area because we have everything nearby...sports, art, culture, great cities, charming little towns, mountains, forests, rivers, beaches, sailing, swimming. It's a great place to raise a family. .
• Began in the industry: 1961, still in college
• Business Description: Well established

• Favorite Travel Destination: Where my grandchildren live.
• Favorite Sports Team: The Orioles and the Ravens. What else?
• Hometown: Baltimore, for the last 30+ years.
• How is your firm different from architects selling "permit drawings." : Our clients desire real control of their construction projects. They don't let the builder design it as he goes.
• How I Spend My Time Off: What time off?

• He and his wife of more than 44 years are active on numerous community boards and active in their church, for over 30 years in the Baltimore Area.
Expertise
• Our process is collaborative. It gives you real control of your project from start to finish. Unlike many residential designers and design-builders, we specialize in helping you build exactly the project you want, both in concept and in detail.
• First, we listen to what you want to accomplish. This includes your budget, and the style of architecture you prefer. Typically, we start by providing you with several design concepts so you can see some big-picture options and what they cost. Then, based on your review and direction, we re-design, including what you tell us you liked and discarding the rest. We continue to refine the project, re-designing every aspect until you're satisfied with the design, budget, and schedule.
• Your approved design is the basis of the Construction Documents. These explain to bidders exactly how to bid and build the project, in detail, as you have approved it. With our help, you select and qualify bidders, and bid and negotiate your project. We help you create a fair owner-contractor agreement.
• In accord with the Agreement, the Contractor builds the Project as it was designed. We observe the construction and help interpret the Contract Documents during construction. We ensure that what you had us design is actually what is built. This process gives you control through the entire project, from site selection, to design, right through construction.
Brands Used
• Each client requires its unique product research. Unlike many firms, we never accept remuneration in exchange for specifying a mfgr's products.
