Founded in 1992, A Better Insulation Co. has successfully marketed Radiant Barrier insulation from our base in Northern California to the western states. This cost-effective product was developed by N.A.S.A. for space travel. It reflects 97% of the heat back to its source, thereby outperforming traditional "R" value type insulations. It consists of two thin layers of 99% pure aluminum with a layer of tough polyethelene sandwiched in between, making it function like a thermos bottle, hot stays hot cold stays cold. It's perforated so it breathes. It was recently added to California's "Title 24" energy calculations when State Assembly Bill 970 passed in 2001, making it part of the permit process for new homes.
