Project: Refinish Wood Flooring
I asked this group to come and give me an estimate....and he actually said, your floors DON"T need to be redone! Do XYZ and you will be happy. I was so happy to not have to worry for several more years! It was an honest mans response. Thanks!

Project: Install or Completely Replace Wood Flooring
After some slight delays in completing the estimate, the project flowed smoothly and was completed on time. The project involved glue-down installation of hardwood flooring over a concrete subfloor. I provided the flooring material. The cost for leveling/flattening the floor fell midway in the range provided in the estimate. The work progressed steadily and communication was fairly good. The installers were professional and the end result looks great.

Smith and Sons did a great job. There was a problem with the hall floor that was not caused by Smith and Sons, but they did their best to correct the problem. Their solution to the problem was excellent.

My big mistake was not hiring Smith & Sons from the beginning. I was assured by the contractor hired to remodel our offices that he had the the expertise needed toi install and finish solid oak flooring, I took him at his word. What a mistake, thankfully Gabe of Smith & Sons came to the rescue. Now the floors are perfect. Eugene S.

They were very professional, nice, and efficient. They were able to accomodate some issues on my side effectively, and even though they got swamped the week of my work, they did an excellent job! Knowledgeable people! Highly recommend.

floors look excellent but there are a few spots that did not get done. Also, I specifically asked if the tops of bar and cabinets could be covered with plastic to protect items which were placed there, I was assured this would happen and it did not. Several items had so much of the fine dust on them that they had to be thrown away. My first contact with Smith and Sons was with a representative who seemed very knowledgeable, my second meeting was with the company owner who also was gracious and knowledgeable. I thought they would be involved in the actual work, the person who actually did the work I had never met and was not able to answer questions. This was somewhat disappointing. All in all my floors look beautiful, I am a little worried about the long term but am very happy with initial outcome. I would definetely recommend Smith and Son to others but would make sure they asked more questions.

I apologize to Lillian. I spoke with Josh, (Lillian's field technician) and it seems that communication issues occured. We take great pride in how knowledgable and thorough our employees are, and we had a meeting after Lillian expressed her concerns. We have invested a large amount of money in a Dust Containment System to make the refinishing process far less intrusive. Thanks for the feedback
