Project: Grade or Reslope Grounds for Landscaping
We had a problem with drainage and water pooling in our back yard, making it impossible for grass to grow in most areas. Patrick gave us options at different prices so we could choose the one to best meet our needs and stay within our budget. The finished project turned out beautifully. Three downspouts were connected to a buried drainage hose, which directs water away from the house and into the alley. The rear half of the yard was re-graded so it gradually slopes away from the house. A beautiful 430 square foot deck was built around two big live oak trees. Aboveground footings ensured that the roots would not be harmed. The construction is very solid and it looks exactly the way we envisioned it. A flagstone path surrounded by ferns and mondo grass leads from the deck to the side of the house. Old beds were cleaned out and new mulch was put down, and the yard was re-sodded with St. Augustine. Patrick was easy to work with and communication was very good. Through face-to-face conversations, phone calls, emails, and texts, he answered numerous questions and made sure he understood exactly what we wanted. Likewise, his employees were very professional and courteous. I also had the impression that each person was experienced and knew their job well. They also cleaned up the job site after each day’s work and left the property spotless after the project was completed. We will definitely call Patrick again when we are ready for more improvements, and would definitely recommend Skidstar Grading and Landscape to our friends and family.

Pat came and gave me an estimate. He was very friendly. Gave me a very fair price and showed me how I could save money by just moving the dirt in my yard to do my job. I was impressed.

After changing my plans several times (as a woman is allowed to do), work began early in the morning and was done in a professional and courteous way. Their laying of flagstone was just brilliant. My only complaint is that they would NOT let me help and get dirty too.

Patrick Swann was an absolutely patient and helpful person when it came to answering my questions and addressing my concerns. His employees were prompt, courteous, and absolute gentlemen when it came to dealing with me. I have already recommended them to my neighbors and will definitely call them first should I need more drainage/easement work in the future. I am very happy with the end result and also grateful for mother nature providing the rain to keep the sod moist.
