The room design was excellent. There was a delay in starting the work but once the contractors were in place the project was completed in a timely fashion. Designer and support staff were very helpful.

Listens. Understands how the space is used before doing the design. Ensures that money is well spent by substituting material but does not compromise end design. Keeps end budget in mind. Fabric choices her forte.

Make sure to read the contract. It says they will by ALL furniture and acc. We found the furniture for $2000 less and wanted to cancel the contract. We ended giving up $2400 in hourly rate and closed our account with her. So what we got for that money was a design plan.
Comment from Shea Studio Interiors, Inc.
First, I thought the client an I had come to a mutually agreed resolution when they decided to purchase outside the contract. We researched and selected all materials for this project, designed the space 4 different times, met the electrician and directed him where to put the fixtures and traveled to multiple showrooms for the samples to show them, so I am surprised that ehy feel they did not get work for the money paid. When the client decided to purchase on their own, we converted to hourly so we could receive compensation for the time we spent as per the terms of the agreement which they signed after reading it.

The finished project did indeed "exceed (my) expectations". All meetings were punctual; June, Marla, and Sandy were fun, pleasant and professional; scheduling was done to meet my needs. I was very nervous since this was my first experience working with a professional decorating team, but they took all weight off my shoulders and met with installers and delivery people while I attended to personal matters. I'll definitely hire them again for my next project.

June Shea came to the house and worked for two hours. She made great suggestions for our lighting needs and then drew a diagram to scale for us to give to the electrician. She was very professional and we felt very comfortable with her. After she left, she sent the diagram via e-mail and a series of suggestions for lighting fixtures. We would recommend her anytime.

Review by Patricia P.in Alexandria, VA Project: Interior Decorator
The decorating, which was agreed upon over the phone, was that someone was to come into my home and rearrange the existing furniture, pictures, etc. to make it a little more fashionable. The price agreed upon was $150 an hour. Once June Shea arrived and realized that the furniture (one couch, four chairs, two end tables, one screen) was made of rosewood and heavy - she called in her associate. The associate was here for two hours. The two hours that June's assistant was helping her; I was charged at the rate of $275 an hour. I was not told that there would be an extra charge for an extra person.
Comment from Shea Studio Interiors, Inc.
I am surprised, as the client was very happy with the end result. It took 3 people to move the screen in question, I actually discounted the hourly rate for the second person to $125 per hour. If she had expressed concern at the time of payment we could have resolved it amicably.

Very knowledgeable in the latest trends. They took the time to listen to my "must haves" and worked within my budget without sacrificing on the materials or appliances. Like I said before "Trust June" They were very well respected by the "Tradesmen" on the project which speaks volume's about their reputation and dedication to getting the job done right the 1st time....
