Roger's bid (4 bids) had the most details of what he would be doing to fully replace our 460 sq ft deck that sits very close to the ground. We understood what we were getting for the price we would pay. A stranger to us at the bid phase, his detailed bid showed he certainly had the required knowledge of building decks. His bid was very competitive as well. Our new deck required all new concrete footings - 4 feet apart. A section of the deck ajoins our in ground pool. He ensured the framing matched the curve of the pool for extra strength in this high traffic area and the deck height matched PERFECTLY ! Top quality in all aspects !

We hired Roger to remove an existing, aging deck and replace it in the same footprint/design with composite materials. Overall we are thrilled with the outcome. We believe we got a great quality deck but some aspects of the job could have been better. For example, the job took twice as long as Roger estimated (4weeks versus 2 weeks) and he didn't really communicate to us as things were going along why that was the case. His crew was not on the job 5 days per week and seldom put in an 8 hour day so I am certain he was using his crew on more than one job at a time. None the less, we definetly recommend his work.

We needed some exterior stairs built and the layout was somewhat tricky. Roger showed us how it would work and we gave him the job. The finished project looks great and is exactly what we pictured. He used great materials and removed all debris.

Project: Install a Wood Fence
Roger was a pleasure to work with. He installed a fence which extended our existing fence so that we can park our travel trailer in our side yard. The slope of our yard made it difficult to put up a fence that aligned all the way down so he made a few suggestions, which I accepted, and he did a wonderful job - the fence looks great! He did what he said he would do and I couldn't be more pleased.

I was extremely impressed with the follow up of all the contractors above. I received calls 5-10 minutes after I submitted my request and received emails. The communication is great. I had a couple of them (Greg Brock & Roger Holme) stop by the house to quote the project, then decided to change the project a bit. I ended up not using Roger Holme, but decided that I needed a concrete contractor rather than a decking contractor for this project. (******THIS Submit Ratings process wouldn't allow me to send these comments unless I picked a contractor, even though I didn't end of using any of them) I found the concrete contractor, California Edge, on Service Magic.com and was extremely impressed by his work. I would highly recommend California Edge to anyone and would use him again for any concrete work.

Of all the contractors I used for various projects, so far, Mr. Holme is the only one that has demonstrated integrity, ethics and honesty. Roger Holme is a man of his word. We have an absolutely stunning deck; solid construction with attention to details. I would definitely recommend Roger Holme to anyone looking to build a deck.
