Project: Analyze a Structural Issue (Structural Engineer)
I hired Richard to assess a minor project and to provide a letter that I can give to my condo board so I can get approval to start the project. I selected Richard becuase his rate was much lower than the other engineers that I talked to. Richard came to the property and did a 5-10 minute assessment, explaining to me that there were no issues with the project from his view. When I received his written assessment, there was extra wording at the end that stated that something else should be looked into, something that he had not discussed with me while on-site. I am unable to use his assessment, it was a waste of time and money.

Mr. Peterson was wonderful, prompt, and professional. He has no fancy website and seems to be a freelancer rather than a member of a big firm, but nobody can touch him on price. He showed up the day after he called me, analyzed a failing retaining wall and drew up and mailed me the diagram and plans for replacement with a list of contractors to get bids from. Absolutely make sure to call him before hiring any other engineer. Failure to do so could result in paying many hundreds of extra dollars. I know this from talking to other engineers prior to calling him.
