Quatrefoil Inc. provides personalized landscape architectural and design services for all types of site design, from residential to institutional. Design is client-driven to merge program, technical and lifestyle needs. Services are tailored to program, schedule and budget requirements. Projects evolve through an interactive dialogue between client and designer, insuring an integration between all elements of the landscape.
Types of projects undertaken: urban design, garden design, garden architecture, decks, terraces, indoor planting, pools, fountains, irrigation design, and planting design.
Professional Experience:
Mr. Bainnson is a landscape architect with over 14 years experience in project planning and design on a wide range of institutional, commercial, governmental, recreational and residential projects. He is committed to helping clients achieve design solutions that are appropriate, timely and cost-effective.
Since the founding of Quatrefoil Inc. in 1999 he has been involved in a wide range of projects and collaborative design efforts. Recent work has included several projects at the Oregon Garden in Silverton, including the site-work and landscape around the Schmidt Pavilion and the Conifer Garden. Mr. Bainnson recently oversaw the completion of the final phase of the development of the Senator Hatfield West Trailhead for the Historic Columbia River Highway Bike Trail, Hood River to Mosier Section. Mr. Bainnson was recently involved in the development of a 50 acre waterfront part for the City of Mosier, designed to reconnect Mosier to its waterfront.
In addition, Mr. Bainnson is involved in numerous residential commissions that he has undertaken since forming his design studio. His residential work has focused on creating distinctive gardens that reflect his clients’ personalities and lifestyles. Residential projects range from large estate properties to small urban gardens. Recent residences have included a seven acre garden for a new home located on 800 acres in rural Dundee, to the renovation of a historic formal garden in North East Portland. In all of Mr. Bainnson's work understanding of context, attention to detail, and ability to understand give life to the client’s expectations unite the project. Design and planning are blended with an understanding of the technical complexities of building projects, working with contractors and controlling fiscal realities.
