The company charged improperly price. More then the structural engineer. Paid for a visit and consultation $380. This does not include the written report. No response to my call and emails.

This consumer was informed during the initial phone contact that the quoted fee covered a site visit and verbal consultation and an additional fee for a written report. This is clearly stated in the written commitment agreement presented to the client & endorsed prior to any engineering services. Following the site consultation and again in our 1/4/12 email, she was reminded of the cost of a written report. The client proceeded to remove the trees that she believed the cause of the foundation wall damage despite the engineer’s professional recommendations not to remove the trees until the foundation was structurally stabilized.

First of all the person was late showing up and it was almost 20 minutes after he was supposed to be there that I got a phone call saying he was going to be there in 10 minutes and it was another 20 minutes until he showed up. And then he kind of just rushed around inside and out. he may have been there 20 minutes at the most.

Yes we were courteous to the client by calling ahead of the appointment time explaining the delay. We also spent 40-45 minutes on the property, not 20 as client states. In any event the engineer did a complete and thorough inspection. Therefore we do not understand her comments as we provided the service that was previously discussed and approved by the client in writing prior to the inspection. I can only assume that the client doesn’t drive a vehicle and or has never been late for an appointment? Also, the client never called us to indicate that she was unhappy which is also a mystery to us.

Prompt call back and service. Exhibited patience and understanding, and provided solid information pertaining to my structural problem. Recommendations were spot on!

responded quickly by phone, and then was able to fit us in this am. Great explanations of our problems; clear, concise and very pleasant. Price seems high ($385) for an inspection with no paperwork whatsoever (that's extra), but he was absolutely thorough, spending time throughout the house to see if the foundation problems affected the second floor, etc. We're well pleased with the the completeness of his survey and his patience with our questions, as well as his practical approach to our problems. Would recommend highly.

Responded very promptly. Was accomodating in making a visit on a Saturday. Seemed knowledgable. More expensive than competitor but responded better and did what they promised they would.

We had Penn Valley Engineering come to look at our nearly 100 year old house and provide information on sagging 2nd story floors. They walked us through the entire house and pointed out everything in our basement. They also told us that our house was structurally sound. They did not attempt to upsell us on any services. I found the information very valuable.

The person and company was professional in assisting my needs and answered all my questions.

They were very prompt on returning my calls, setting up an appointment to address my issue, and very thorough with the inspection of my house foundation that I requested. Above and beyond. Very knowledgeable!

Hired Penn Valley to determine structural issues for my florida room. Engineer was late for the appointment. I was given a very vague assessment with general information provided free by other contractors. I did not feel that a service was performed so I sent a email to Brad Baker about my displeasure. In our phone conversation Brad was beligerent and demeaning. I have never been treated so disrepectfully by a company who provides service to the public. I was accused of "splitting hairs over 385 dollars" Although I never expressed that I wanted a refund. Horrible customer service save your money.

This homeowner believes that she is an engineer! We found her to be imposable to deal with. She has no idea of engineering discipline comparing engineering to contractors and refuses to listen to logic. We know of nothing that could or would satisfy this person. She knows herself well as even her own e-mail address tells a story having the word "wacky” in it.
