I mean, they quoted the rates but there was no way of knowing if it was a one hour, two, or six hour project.  As it turned out, the amount of time was reasonable, but I wouldn't do a larger project without a better estimate of the cost.  Too much of a gamble. Since Mr Handyman charges a service fee per appointment (like many contractors), the hourly rate is $90 unless you book for 1/2 day (lesser rate).  If I had pushed it and wanted the blinds done by this man (who had no idea of how to do it), it would have been many hours of trial and error.  I decided to hire a company to repair them that just does blinds.
