I have had a very ggod experiece with MHI Contracting. They finished my full-basement and completed it to my full satisfation. I had some ideas and drawings of how I wanted the basement to look and they made my plans become reality. All of the MHI contractors were courteous and were responsive to my suggestions. All in all I am very satisfied with the quality and service. MHI's best feature was the value of there product for the cost of the job. I believed MHI saved me 10-150k completing my basement. Thanks MHI for a job well done.

Project: Remodel a Basement

I decided to start with a kitchen remodel. I gave the initial payment in April 2011, the project was suppose to take 10 business days once the cabinets were completed. Cabinets were completed by mid to late June. MHI received full and total payment from me in July 2011. The cabinets were dropped off to my garage the 3d week of June. As of October 10th 201, I hired someone else to come in and complete the project, replace the siding and remove the garbage that was left in my garage for the entire summer. An e-mail was sent offering to reimburse me for a portion of the services - but no follow up.

Marshall and his team are a great value. I consider Marshall a "basement genius". He can look at your space and think of creative solutions and approaches. He's ideal for a person who doesn't know exactly what they want going into it, but knows it when they see it. He typically has a lot of projects going on, so it won't be your fastest project, but if you can be patient, it's worth the wait. The quality of the work is a steal for the price.

large project to finish a basement. apprx.2000 sq ft. project took a few weeks longer than first thought, but well worth the wait. all employees wanted to do a good job.

To protect us from a long and protracted project term when asked for an expected completion date. The project started Jan 11,one week late because of inclement weather. We quickly learned that the project would take much longer because of the scheduling done by Marshall Mainard. Workers would come, perform tasks and leave; several days would pass without continuing work and we would call Marshall and workers would come. This was repeated throughout the project. It was frustrating. The projected ended 17 weeks later in May. We had an issue after the project ended; 3x after contacting MHI we got a response but not a resolution.

The MHI team delivered a fantastic finished basement for me. The quality of the workmanship and attention to detail were top-notch. The only "knock" is that the project took much longer to complete than anticipated. In hindsight, obtaining a project plan as part of the contract, with penalties for substantial delays, would have been a good approach (this is true for any contractor). Overall, though, the finished product I received, for a great price, made the delays a bit more tolerable. I have a deck extension planned in the future and I would use MHI again.

MHI's quality of work was top notch. We had Marshall come in to complete our basement after we had started it as a do-it-yourself project several years ago and he was very accomidating on adjusting the price for the work that already had been copleted. He was very accomidating along the way with several significant changes we made to the plan and he even threw in some extras too. The project was pretty big (1300 sq ft) and was completed in a reasonable time. We couldn't be more pleased with the result.
