Maintain That Drain employee came out and determined that the problem with the basement is most likely associated with the chimney. I was completely satisfies with their response and thorough evaluation of the problem.

They did an excellent job. They called me 10 minutes after submitting my request on ServiceMagic and set up an appointment for the next day. They arrived on time and were there for 20 minutes, in which time they removed and cleaned at the p-trap on my bathroom sink and put new pvc pipe cement. They then ran the water for a few minutes to test that it wasn't leaking. I would highly recommend.
