In Business Since: 1976
Kumaran, Inc! opened its doors in 1976. At first the focus was design and building of new, custom homes. Over time the focus has evolved to be exclusively design of new residences, additions and remodels, and, occasionally public spaces and places of worship.
My training has been very classical. Rather than simply focusing on classroom work, I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to gain real-world experience through apprenticeships with extraordinary individuals -- artisans, designers, craftsman and builders.
My work, both residential and public places, is crafted and sculptural, with a touch of the spiritual. My design is always thoughtful and well-built, expressing simplicity and repose over clutter and chaos. Each project I design is unique, and reflects the individual character, needs and lifestyle of the client.
Always present over these last 30 years is my adherence to quality, craftsmanship, aesthetic design, respect for your budget, and one on one customer service. Each design project is unique and special - after all, it is your needs and desires that I try to balance with your budget and your site qualities to create something very special. I am comfortable listening to your needs. I try to come with a clean slate, taking a fresh look at each project, so attention is on you and what you hope to achieve. I am not attached to where design ideas come from. More often than not, projects are collaborative, especially between my clients and me, so, I look forward to speaking with you. Give a call.
