Project: Repair or Service a Heat Pump
Cris arrived "on-time", made an inspection of the existing unit and pointed out that the coil (aliminum) had ruptured and was not economically repairable. He quote a price to replace it at $1800. Three days before start of the installation, he called to say he "needed to talk to me" . Cris came to the house and explained that the change from R-22 to R412 (or what ever) required replacement of the air handler. Cost $800. Subsequently, several others have offered bids, all higher than cris's, and incllluded several things that cris had not mentioned., such as dropping three feeds in order to remove old unit and install new unit.
