JH Strain Carpentry's first major contract was to remodel the Petty Officers' Club at the Philadelphia Naval Yard for the Navy's Bi-Centennial in 1975. From then to now, we've been involved with historic restoration, new and not so new homes, and major renovation. Currently 40% of our work is done for developers, while the rest of our time is spent with private home owners, and custom builders. Our company is a husband and wife team with years of experience in hundreds of homes. We enjoy working with people to develop the design best suited to their lifestyles. We're very capable of coming up with modern, classic, and traditional styles, as well as craftsman and colonial. Our goal is to provide a solid, well crafted job that we can take pride in and that our clients will be proud to have!

Excellent workmanship - the only reason for the 4.5 is that the hardward on hinges of a few doors bronze when all other hardware nickel. Excellent workmanship, prompt, neat, and courteous.

Joe Strain was wonderful from beginning to the end of my kitchen cabinet project. I wanted to install glazed glass on a number of my cabinets and once I explained what I wanted Joe just took over. He chose an absolutely perfect glass and his caulking on the interior is flawless as well as invisable!!! My old cabinets look fabulous and I would highly recommend Joe to everyone for home repairs. He gave me so much advice on other odds and ends that his expertise on just about everything was evident. Joe was meticulous, helpful, and extraorinarily professional. Do yourself a favor, save yourself time and money, and just hire Joe.
