This is by far the best investment I have made in my home. Rick Bayless is an amazing inspector. Not only is he certified in many fields, but he has practical experience that makes all the difference. One of the reasons why I picked Rick is because he only does inspections. He does not do actual repairs. This is wonderful because I know he is free of any bias or interest in discovering expensive issues. Rick started out by asking us what our concerns and issues were. Rick Bayless has worked with me on 2 separate occasions and I plan to continue to work with him in the near future to complete my home energy projects. He is thoroughly professional and knowledgeable. I just wish I had known about him sooner. He made me aware of problem areas that no other service had considered. What a gem. this guy was nice enough and seemed like he knew his stuff. however he charged me 125 dollars to walk around the house with me for about an hour and a half while giving me advice on house maintenance. he expected me to take notes on stuff he was saying like it was a class or something. It seems like if he is going to charge such a high price for his professional opinion he should take notes and provide a report of something. the 125 dollars did not include a singe test or official verification of anything. no paperwork or receipt, nothing. it felt like a knowledgeable buddy coming by to give advice and then charging 125 dollars. poor value f

Keep me posted of your progress on resolving the top 5 issues that we identified together at our visit: The backdrafting furnace, the molding storage items in the utility room, the disconnected downspout wetting the utility room, the oil furnace tune-up, and the drainage issue from the back and side yard. They called 15 minutes after I put my request on line. Referred work to another person. Again, received phone call within 15-20 minutes. Set date & time. Work was done on time, quickly, and within estimate given. Very happy.

Rick Bayless was very efficient in his work. I was under the impression he was going to give quote on insulation but he checked for heat loss. I was not aware of a charge until he came but I would highly recommend his services to others.

Nancy. Many people I visit are suprised when they realize that my visit is not about selling them something. It's about discovering the fix that would best solve the problem as cost effectively as possible. As we saw at your house, it was draft-cutting and making a duct adjustment, not insulation, that would best cut your energy bills and stop the chilly feel in winter.
