An energy audit is a comprehensive inspection of the house and all of it's "systems", such as heating and cooling, ventilation, insulation, windows, doors, appliances, lighting, and hot water. I do a thermographic (infrared) inspection to look for insulation deficiencies and a I also use a blower door to determine how leaky a house is and where the leaks are. Included in the report is an analysis of your utility bills so you have an estimation of where you are spending your money - how much does it cost to cool the house, or how much does it cost to heat my water?
