Your gutters are designed to drain the water from you roof way from your house and foundation.  Full gutters and clogged downspouts can lead to roof and gutter damage or leaky basements. How often should I get my gutters cleaned? Most homeowners should get their gutters cleaned twice a year.  Once obviously after the leaves fall and once again in the spring after bud and seeds have fallen.  It takes a relatively small amount of debris to cover or clog a downspout.  Just as most houses are unique, so is our approach to cleaning your gutters.  Typically though, the gutters are cleaned by hand.  Provided your roof is walkable, we carry a bag around the perimeter of your roof collecting any debris in your gutters. This removes 95% of the material in the gutters.  Using a high powered blower we remove the remaining fine debris and check the downspouts to be sure they are completely unclogged.  In the event we come across a clogged downspout, there are several ways we can get them cleared.  In simple cases an auger is used to break up a clog.  For more difficult cases we carry equipment to disassemble and reassemble the downspout. Finally we clean up any debris which fell while cleaning the gutters.  This includes cleaning off any patios, sidewalks, driveways, etc.  This is a messy job, but most of the properties we service look better after we leave them than before we arrived.
