Rating: Project: Designer - Bathroom She came to the house to review the bathroom and gave us a verbal estimate of $350 to $400.  When the design job was completed several weeks later, the actual cost was @ $1,600. 00.… Read Complete Rating She came to the house to review the bathroom and gave us a verbal estimate of $350 to $400.  When the design job was completed several weeks later, the actual cost was @ $1,600. 00.  She said they spent more time than expected on the design.  After arguing with her, we settled at a cost of $750.  She did not notify us of the anticipated extra costs which in my mind was a planned "bait and switch" tactic.  Not only that, but when we had a drywall contractor and a plumber review the drawings to give us estimates, there were several "engineering" mistakes llike unsupported walls.
