Due to our heating oil bill being increased from $282.00 monthly to $451.00 monthly, we decided to get an insert for our wood burning fire place. Service Magic connected us with Don. He is really knowledgeable about all types of alternative and "green" heating systems. All I can say at this point is that the insert looks great. Since it wall installed in June, we haven't burned it yet! If you are interested e-mail me in the winter at kathy_schreiber@yahoo.com and I will let you know how it's working. I am finding that lots of people give away free firewood on Craigslist.

It was a pleasure having Don do the job. He will take the time to explain any facet of the job to you and he can recommend the best energy-efficient option and best heating option for your size home. The job took longer than I had expected, but Don's price is one of the best you will find.

We installed two wood stoves and an air kit in one of our fireplaces. Don did the installations himself and workmanship was perfectly fine. His price was also very competitive compared to that of resellers of the brand of stove we wanted. Scheduling the work took a few interactions because of back-ordering issues for the stoves, but nothing out of the ordinary. One recommendation I would make is to do your homework first and know what you want and why and at what price, as it took a few iterations for us to settle on a specific brand of stove. But at the same time, Don was fine with it and did not pressure us to pick a specific brand.

I have never dealt with a contractor that was so responsive and professional. I heard from him within the hour, had an estimate by the next day, and my gas fireplace was beautifully installed within four days. He sought ways of problem solving rather than just saying that something couldn't be done. He was there when he said he would be and did not leave until the job was done. I would most definitely recommend him to others.
