I hired Cortis Construction to do work at my 87 year old mothers house. They made her feel completely comfortable. Very nice honest company..

We hired Harry to demolish an existing (condemned) deck and install a suspended deck, a platform deck, and a stone patio in its place. From the start of this complicated project to the end, Harry and his helper Chris were polite, professional, friendly to us and our children, and respectful of our property. The final project is outstanding in quality and beauty. We would absolutely hire Harry again. A quick example: At several points, gravel was delivered to our driveway. Harry made sure each delivery was completely removed from our driveway (and put in place in the backyard) by the end of the same day, so we were never inconvenienced by it

Very pleasant man to do business with he showed when he said he would completed work in timely fashion, made several suggestions which I loved, knew what I was talking about, etc. I would definately hire Harry again and give high recommendation for anyone needing a contractor, you won't be sorry!

Our porch was completed on time and on budget. The attention to detail was wonderful. It was everything that we wanted. Cortis Construction was very professional and they even cleaned up after their work was completed. We can't say enough good things about them. We would highly recommend them to our friends, business associates and family.

Extremely slow, went almost 3 months past builders set finish date. Cement floor in garage that was supposed to be flat and smooth is wavy with high and low spots. Also has many cracks due to poor prep work. Stairs leading into breezeway needed to be completely redone due to not passing code requirements, found that out the hard way after builder was gone. Many other small things that add up. Wall studs are not 16" on center so installing insulation was difficult and hanging sheet rockwas extremely difficult. Poor installation of garage doors, alignments off missing bolts and not enough anchors to walls. Not very good finishing skills.

First, he got garage he could afford for thousands of dollars less than anybody else. If you consider the very low price paid, some things could have been overlooked. Why do you need extra anchor bolts? They are spaced 6' apart & 1' from corners. Wall studs are 16" O.C. You might find a little variation because they are so long & sometimes have a little curve. 12' sheetrock should take care of these problems. Garage doors have all the bolts that come with the doors. Extra bolts for all holes are not included & they are not needed. Stairs were temporary, but to code. I've done many finishing jobs with no complaints - just compliments.

completed the project on time, but not overly impressed with final result. Used very inexpensive wood which was difficult/impossible to stain.

Price and materials used were specified and approved in a signed contract. I was not aware customer was not happy. I will try to rectify the situation so customer will be pleased. This project was completed more than a year ago, but I was never told there was a problem.

The job was done to our expectations. We were happy with the work.

Hard working honest people a throwback to the old days.

He didn't show up and no call on day 2 of the project. (!?) Afterwards, showed up and worked diligently if not slowly. Created a wall, installed a door, did some drywall work. He subbed out the small electrical portion which came out fine. The finish result was good, but not exceptional - in that the finish of the skimcoat was a little rough in spots, especially by the ceiling & corners, and the amount of work days it took to complete was twice as long as he estimated. He does communicate well re: specifics of the job and confirm your expectations.

The overall project came out well, although we hit a few scheduling snags. I was limited to certain days I could be there, and at times my availability clashed with my customer’s. This left room for more refinement of the project; however they did not want to extend the project for another day. I will always keep in touch with my customers about scheduling and will complete work as they wish.
