In addition to my professional home inspection training, I have over 15 years experience in the home building, remodeling and construction trades. This unique combination, grounded in common sense, enables me to provide professional home inspections with the highest standards. Inspections are conducted according to the standards of practice of the Texas Real Estate Commission, as well as the standards of practice and code of ethics of the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors. I present a clear understanding of your homes weaknesses, as well as its' strengths. My focus is on things that matter, particularly safety issues, legal issues, and potential problems. I help keep things in perspective with an unbiased view of the facts, including the good ones. My report will be easily understandable, complete with digital pictures. I will be happy to answer any questions that you may have about your home, both at the time of the inspection, as well as at any point during your ownership of the home. Project: Inspect a Home
I would recommend Cornerstone to my friends. Randy was great, he was on time, very polite and worked with me on scheduling. He spent the time to explain each part and step in the process which was great. His recap was easy to read and understand included pictures and detailed descriptions of all points of interest. Also set us up with a recall chek so we will get updates on our appliances if they have any recalls.

What a guy! If you need a thorough home inspection with all your questions answered he's your guy! He took pictures of all the minor issues and some not so major issues and pointed them out to me. If I ever need another home inspector I know who to call. Thanks Randy!

Inspection was thorough and documented really well. Since this was a fixer upper, I now have a great checklist and I can be confident that there are no surprises. They were quick, courteous, and professional.

Project: Inspect a Home
Randy was professional and thorough. His price was unbeatable. Even though our builder recommended against an additional inspection on our home (claiming it was unnecessary on a brand-new house), we are SO glad we hired Randy to come out. He found several things that needed to be repaired and will save us the headache and expense of needing to have them repaired in the future. We appreciate his work and would use Randy again.

Project: Inspect a Home
I was disappointed because I wanted the roof, the attic, & soffitt vents checked which his website stated he checked to ensure that I had proper ventilation since summer will be here soon. His ladder wasn't long enough to reach the roof so he wasn't able to check it out (concerned for his safety-this I understood). In the future, he should give prior notice that he may not be able to check the roof because he doesn't have a long enough ladder if it's a two story home because I would have went with someone else. The attic wasn't checked because of the blown insulation and the way it was built. Again, prior notification should be given.
Comment from Cornerstone Home Inspections
I do my best to get to every part of a house, but sometimes certain areas are inaccessible, as client acknowledges is the case with her home. It would be impossible to predict all such scenarios in advance, and exhausting for all parties to try to make these disclaimers during every call or email. Roof was accessible only with an extremely long ladder. I inspected it thru binoculars, a typical and accepted method approved by TREC. Attic viewable only from a small hole, and too shallow for human access. Ventilation inspected with client present, and explanation given. Client followed me during inspection, and assured me that she was satisfied.
