Overcharged for parts but did good work!

The service tech charged me $95 for a 20 minute assessment of my pool heater. He told me that it would cost $800-$900 to fix it but recommended I buy a new heater instead at a cost of $3,900. After looking online for the price of pool heaters and getting another quote for $2,600 for a new heater, I could see that he was trying to rip me off. I then looked at the the heater myself and found that it only needed a new pressure switch and I fixed it myself for $75.

This heater is very corroted. Replacing the pressure switch is only a temporary patch. this heater will continue to fail and cost the homeowner more money on the long run. As for the price homeowner is not taking in to considersation the substantial cost of modifications to replace/upgrade an old heater, ewhich is now only about 55% efficient.

He arrived when he had scheduled, diagnosed the problem immediately, completed the service exceeding my expectations and was very courteous. I will use Certified again for all of my pool service needs.

I have used him for 5 or 6 years. He will leave the parts next to the pool, then we talk about what needs to be repaired or what needs to be done. He is just great, explained everything that the pool needs. I am very satisfied, comes in a timely manner, just very good work.
