I was so happy with how building designs was able to keep the project within budget. The project took much longer than projected but also recognize that we added many items as we went. Also, kitchen cabinet can not be rushed and they slowed our project down. Building Design was always clear and decisive on budget updates and design choices when needed. There were many aspects of project that I differed to BD for design choice and all have turned out excellent for ouor decor and overall goal. I would and have recommended Building Design to others. I usually try to not say anything in these situations, unless I can say something nice. But I hired Lynne for a complicated remodel of an old house, and had numerous problems related to the inadequacy of the design. The complex things that needed figuring out (such as the entire attic) were stamped "verify in field" on the plans. After numerous queries, she kept assuring me that the builder could figure it all out. But that was not the case. Some things were just flat-out wrong. Like persuading me that ridge vents alone would solve ice damming. She is a very nice person, but her skills are probably better suited to new construction.

As the third Designer on this project I should have known to be more deliberate. Steve loved my design that saved him money then the other provided previous design. He had an old historical home with a series of poorly constructed overlapping additions that there was no way to see how it was constructed until the back roof was opened up. My builder of 20 years handled the job very well but for Steve to be on the site every day it is understandable from him to not grasp the typical struggles you have to do in the field to make it work and there were some misunderstandings with him, such as about the ridge vents. The house finished beautifully.

Contracted to design bathroom remodelling, help pick materials, locate contractors, and manage the remodelling work. Company did a great job designing the remodelling and generating a bill of materials. Company did not locate contractors and manage the job resulting in the postponement of the remodelling due to the small size of the job.

Lynne is a very talented home designer. She is professional and delivers her services in a timely manner. She is very knowledgeable in her field and has great experience and contacts. We highly recommend her!
