He did say he would return to start the repairs the next day. It did take him longer to get back to me but when he did come (next week after a holiday) he completed the fix in one day and asked if anything else needed work. i asked him to troubleshoot an electrical problem which he did and found the problem (a broken common wire in a smoke detector) which was not allowing power to several rooms.
